Holocaust Remembrance Day

~On Tuesday Alina Kentof came to the Ape classrooms and told us of her experiences as a child in Krakow, Poland during the Holocaust! This was a special way to end our unit of study on the Shoah, or Holocaust. She was amazing! We loved hearing her story about kicking the Nazi, trading jewels for food, being smuggled out of the ghetto, singing in a kibbutz, screaming in a jail, and countless other true tales. It was an honor to meet her, and it is our responsibility to not forget the stories of the Holocaust.

Mrs. Kentof presented an actual STAR with the word Jude written on it... it was actually worn by a Jewish person in Germany.

this show was from a small child at the Majdanek Death Camp

Mrs. Kentof shows us some artifacts

we all pledged to NEVER FORGET on the back of a placard with her name on it
