A visit from Renaldo the Ghost

~We had a visit from Renaldo Tuesday night. Renaldo is the name given to the person or ghost who has continuously left presents, notes and created mischief in Mr. G's room over the last ten years. We have received many notes, and they are usually signed very sloppily in ghostly handwriting.... RENALDO. It seems he loves the holidays. If you are Renaldo...... thank you for all the presents and encouragement over the last few years.
this was a gift from Mrs. Pickles in Grade 4..... pictures of Renaldo's gift will be on here tomorrow.

Orphans of the Warsaw Ghetto....

The Warsaw Ghetto

~We have been learning about the second stage of the Holocaust and how the Germans and Nazis isolated the Jews of Europe from the outside world. The purpose of this isolation was to eliminate as many as possible before they figured out a final solution for the removal of Jews from Europe. After all the Jews of Poland were herded into small sections of large cities, a wall or barrier was constructed. The food supply was slowly cut off along with electricity, fuel, medicine, and water. Disease spread quickly as did starvation. After more than 2 years of watching their fellow Jews die and be sent off to other places, roughly 60, 000 Jews decided to rise up. They fought the German Army and fought back for over a month. They held off the German Army longer than the Polish Army, French Army and Dutch Army. This gave hope to many Jews across Europe.
