Pickle Swap 2018!

~We had a blast exchanging, stealing, giving, swapping, and opening presents left by Paul on the Wall!  This annual goofy gift exchange is named after Mrs. Pickles who taught with Mr. Gibbons for numerous years before she retired 8 years ago! Thank you all for the the stocking stuffers!  Big thanks to Paul on the Wall for keeping an eye on us all this week!

Number the Stars

~We are learning so much about the world and the history of its people through literature!  We are following Annemarie and Ellen as they struggle to make sense of the Nazi occupation of their country in the 1940's!  They are learning first hand how ugly words eventually turn to ugly actions!  We are focusing on plot and the elements of a good one!

Gingerbread Fun

~We had a blast with Mrs. Pickles making gingerbread houses!  A big thank you to her for donating the platters, the gingerbread, and all the time and energy it took to put them together!  We had a blast!

~Our first fill throttle essays are done!  The students of Gibbons/Crawford did an amazing job!  Students learned the value of a good plan.  We are really beginning to understand the aspects of a fully effective and convincing essay!  Some of their work is on display outside of Room 16.  As we move forward, students will gain more independent and ownership of their writing.
