| ~We finished reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry today. This novel really painted a trued and accurate picture of what life was like for African American sharecroppers in the United States. Their life was difficult, unfair, unpredictable, violent and there were rarely monetary rewards. Although all of the sharecroppers in our novel were Black, many White southerners were also victims of the sharecropping system. |
