A Strange Conversation

~In our novel, Number the Stars, a very strange conversation took place between Annemarie's father and her Uncle Henrik.  They were saying things that made no sense.  We used our extensive background knowledge, schema, and context clues to figure out what they were talking about.  As one of our daily written responses, we answered the question... What was so strange about their phone conversation?

~These responses had an engaging beginning, had text based evidence to support their answers, inferred what the code meant, and had endings that were engaging and let the reader know that she was done.
