reprisals (n.)- something that is done to someone to punish them or hurt them for something they have done.


hysterical (adj)- unable to control your emotions


taxes (n.)- money paid to the government in return for services


patriot (n.)- a person who is patriotic; someone who loves their country


Lexington (n.)- a town in Massachusetts where the British and the Patriots fought. It was the first victory for the Patriots (colonists)
