What is going on with Freak!

 ~We are really moving through Freak the Mighty at warp speed!  Freak (Kevin) is out of the hospital, and Killer Kane is out of jail!  Surprise surprise for Max..... Daddy comes to visit... I mean kidnap his son on Christmas Eve........ and where do they go to spend the holidays?  Loretta Lee's nasty apartment?  Really?  Can't wait to see what happens next week.  Can you believe how many metaphors and similes Rodman Philbrick uses in this novel?  And he uses hyperbole in almost every paragraph...which kind of makes it more interesting.
