~We finished! One of the all time greatest books ever written was a joy to read with the Apes! We have completed two novels in our author study of Jerry Spinelli. Later in the year we will be reading two more! We learned a lot of life lessons from Earl Grayson: it's never too late to change, Maniac: never quit, John McNab: bullies are usually bullied at home, etc.
~Starting Monday we will begin our study of World War II and the Holocaust. This is Mr. G's favorite time of the year. Our focus will be on this time period of 1914 - 1946 until the end of March. We will be reading some very serious moving and inspirational novels, watching some great movies, meeting some special people, and bringing this time period back to life so those who perished in the Holocaust will NEVER be forgotten!
What a great book! (if Mr. G had his way, every fifth grader in America would have to read this book)
