Word Study test tomorrow!
1. metaphor (n.)- when you say that one thing is another thing in order to make a point.
2. simile (n.)- when you say one thing is like or as another
thing.
3. personification (n.) when you give human qualities to something that is not human.
4. habitat (n.)- where any living thing can live; it provides food, water, space and shelter.
5. canopy (n.)- it covers everything under it; in the forest the canopy is the top layer of tree branches.
6. captive (n.)- someone or something held against your will; zoo creature
7. dilemma (n.)- a problem that does not have an easy solution
8. humid (adj)- moisture in the air.
9. predator (n.)- hunter that eats its prey
10. reintroduction (n.)- to return an animal to its wild habitat such as the wolf in N. America or the golden lion Tamarin in Brazil.
