~We said goodbye to Bruno and Shmuel this week. Both boys were victims of the Holocaust. At the end of the novel, we learned why John Boyne called this book a fable. There was a definite lesson or moral at the end of the book. The Commandant, who was part creator and part director of the killing machine know as Out With, lost his only son to this machine. I guess you could say the moral or message is.....................
*What goes around comes around?
*You reap what you sow?
*Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it?
*Karma?
*Do unto others as you would have them do to you?
~Well, we definitely got a message at the end when Bruno and Shmuel both died in the gas chambers. Thanks for an awesome novel Mr. Boyne.
