~We started our Holocaust Memorial Project today. Each Ape received a small 4 page ID booklet (passport) containing information about ONE person who either survived or perished in the Holocaust. They range from small Jewish children, Resistance fighters, Roma Gypsies, Jehovah Witnesses, Catholic priests to Jewish Rabbis. Each Ape is to write a short piece.... as if they were that person (the first person.... I, me, My, mine, our) to memorialize that person's life. None of these people were famous or well known. They were ordinary people living ordinary lives. We all know Anne Frank, Oskar Schindler and Elie Wiesel...... these are people who make up the ELEVEN MILLION victims of the Holocaust.... children, teacher, bakers, soldiers, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, etc.
