~We have learned so much in the last few weeks about The Great Depression and its causes. We have studied how Hitler came to power in Germany and took over almost all of Europe. We discussed England being an island saved it from the superior technology of Germany. We have studied the D-Day invasion at the beaches of Normandy and how the Allied Powers fooled the Nazis into thinking the invasion was going to be elsewhere. Many of us got to train on an actual WWII helmet and feel just how heavy they were. Next week and the following week we will be focusing on the systematic murder of 11 million people (The Holocaust)
