~While reading Gilly Hopkins, our main character compared her teacher Ms. Harris to a woman from Saudi Arabia because she cannot figure out anything about her. This led to a discussion about how fortunate the women of America are compared to the women of Saudi Arabia. Women in Saudi Arabia must be covered at all times in public, they may not drive, vote or own property. Men may vote, drive, and own property. Glad to be American!
