~I can't believe we start Milkweed this week! This is Mr. G's all-time favorite book in the world! I promise you that you will love Misha, Janina, Shepsel, Uri & Olek! This book will make everything we learned about WWII and the Holocaust come to life! Number the Stars was great, and we connected to it more than most fifth graders, but Milkweed will make you feel like you are there in Poland during the Holocaust! You will be able to visualize each page through Spinelli's awesome details. This week is going to be awesome! You won't want to miss a day of school when we read this novel, our last of three Spinelli books that we read as part of our Jerry Spinelli author study! You will get to see the Holocaust through a much different viewpoint than Annemarie and Ellen.
