~We are well into our final novel of the year, The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Patersen. We have met Gilly, a foster child who has been shipped from home to home. She is angry and is just searching for someone to love her. She has taken her foster brother William Ernest under her wing. He is shy, and has suffered horrors we can only imagine. She has a motive for being nice to him though..... I think it is to help her steal Mr. Randolph's money. I think she has Maime Trotter fooled! She has met her match in her teacher though, Miss Harris! It felt good today to get back into our routine~
