~No word study words this week due to the fact that FCAT is next week!
~This week we will be reviewing FCAT stuff for next week! FCAT Testing begins next week. Please make sure you are on time! It was amazing how many students understood why certain items were wrong on their answer sheets, and they now understand how the test makers try to trick us. Even Mr. G had some difficulty with a few items, but when I went back and reread the text, and looked closely at what the question was asking for.... it was a lot easier!
~Our next novel is one Mr. G's and Mrs. Pickle's favorites! It is the Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Patterson. It is the story of an angry 12 year old girl who has been shipped from foster home to foster home and she discovers that there is no point in trying or being good when nobody wants you. She is an amazing character and one of my favorites! I just wish I had a bar of soap so I could clean up her language a little bit..... don't worry Mrs. Pickles will be playing the part of Gilly! You will fall in love with the characters of Maime Trotter, WE, and Mr. Randolph.
