An Awesome Ape Day....But aren't they all?

~A rewind of the day in Room 71! Today was awesome! I arrived around 7:30 to find this awesome poster on my door, with signed bananas all over it. When did the Apes find the time to do this? And the picture? When was that taken? Mr. G never misses school...so I was a little confused???

Great job on the door!
Hi Dylan

~Then I saw all this food being trucked in....this doesn't even include the junk food Mrs. Walker brought in! Awesome spread Mrs. Z!

~Welcome back Noah. This surgery looked like it was fun...NOT!

Remind me to bring you fishing with us

~After an awesome morning of breakfast and reading.... we got right back to Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. We learned today why Mama does not want the Logan children in the Wallace store. She took them to the Berry's tenant home to show them what the Wallaces did to Mr. Berry. Cassie also learned first hand what it meant to be Black in Mississippi in the year 1936. She was mad at Big Ma for making her apologize for something she didn't do. She also so that she was a 2nd Class citizen inside the store when the man left her standing there to wait on a white girl. She made a mistake and told Uncle Hammer what Mr. Wallace and his daughter did to her. Uncle Hammer cannot control his temper and may get himself into trouble. Remember, there are no laws to protect Blacks in 1936 Mississippi.

~Gilly is something else! She thought she could make Ms. Harris lose it. Her plan backfired! The only thing it accomplished was for Ms. Harris to thank Gilly for almost calling her that name!

~In writing we are working on Pink and Say by Patricia Pallaco. What an awesome book to show the horrors of war, especially for teenagers like Sheldon and Pinkus.

~Awesome job on the gardens in the Second Grade wing Mrs. Ellsworth

It looks awesome

~After school, I rushed home to find that Flossy and Buddy have had babies, four of them! here they are along the shores of Lake Gibbo.
