~As you know, the Apes are required to read 50 Books! Congrats to Antonio! He has reached his 50 Book goal! He joins Octavia and Jasmine.
~We took a 2 hour assessment to prepare us for the Reading FCAT on Thursday. The reason was to build up our stamina for next week. Mr. Gibbons does not like FCAT, but it is here, and we have to take it. It does not measure how smart your child is. It measures how well they take a test...and that is about it. Our goal all year has been to make your children better readers, and to enjoy reading so it becomes a habit, not a chore. My goal has NOT been to make them better test takers. That being said, when students enjoy reading they tend to do better on their assessments. We do enjoy reading A LOT! ~We scored ALL tests and not one Ape from either class scored a Level 1!
