Luncheon, Computer, Extended Day, and Jim Ugly

~Congratulations to former Gibbon Ape Lamar Scruggs of Fletcher High School. Lamar accepted a FULL scholarship to the University of South Carolina based on his high academic achievement and football skills. Beneath the picture is part of what appeared in the Times Union.
Fletcher wide receiver Lamar Scruggs will get his shot to shine in the Fun 'n Gun. Scruggs, arguably the area's top overall prospect, committed to South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon after a meeting with head coach Steve Spurrier.
Scruggs (6-feet-3, 215 pounds) is listed as a four-star prospect (out of five) according to Rivals.com. He chose the Gamecocks over Ole Miss and Illinois and will take his official visit to South Carolina this weekend.
Scruggs caught 46 passes for 741 yards and nine touchdowns this past season for the Senators.
"Lamar is a big-time receiver," Fletcher coach Joe Reynolds said. "Not only is he 6-3, but he has a wide body with speed. He's a harder kid to tackle than people give him credit for. His greatest attribute though is his ability to catch the football away from his body. He's special."

Congratulations Lamar!
