CRASH

We started reading CRASH by Jerry Spinelli last week as part of our author study of Mr. Spinelli. We are enjoying it much more that any of us had anticipated. We spent the first week reading the novel as if it was a play, with each student taking on the roll of the characters. It was incredible. It was also helpful for some students identifying voice change using indentations, and quotations. We are falling in love with Penn and identifying with his right to be different.

While we were talking about Crash and Mike's treatment of Penn, we discussed how we would treat someone different than us. We decided to wear two different socks as an act of support for Penn. Can you guess who the socks belong to??
