~~100% of those eligible to go to Universal Islands of Adventure have paid! We rock! Thanks for turning in your deposit in a timely manner. You may pay your reamining balance at any time.
~~Thanks to Alex Turko, a former student, for volunteering after school every Wednesday to work with students. Alex also designed our Wilma bulletin board across the hall. Alex was also the very first student from Mr. Gibbons classes to ever read Milkweed, along with Danielle Zinn about 4 years ago.
~~We finished Milkweed! WOW! I've never seen so many tears at the completion of a book. If you would like to borrow a copy just send in a note! And no, it wasn't just the girls who cried! I can't tell you how many times we laughed out loud at Misha, or dropped our mouths in shock, or wiped our eyes in angst over Janin's fate! No textbook has ever made students laugh out loud, or cry from sadness or joy! Never! These are the books that make your child love to read! This book even got Mrs. Peck to change her all time favorite book to Milkweed.
~~Mrs. Peck did procedural writing on how to eat an Oreo, and fed us OREOS! Now, we are hoping she will do a writing lesson on how to eat a Maine lobster, or maybe how to eat a dozen fried shrimp! Keep hope alive!
Reminder: NO SCHOOL February 18th
