~Mrs. Goodman and Mr. Gibbons are the luckiest teachers in Jacksonville to have parents and students who appreciate them the way that you do!

SMACKDOWN Champs & New Books!

~Big thanks to former Beauclerc student AJ Force, who graduates from Wolfson this year!  He donated hundreds of books to the APES!  He also tried to help the APE students beat Mr. Gibbons and Mrs. Goodman in Smackdown!  Even a much younger and skinnier person could not help the APE students!  The APE teachers remain the SMACKDOWN Champions!

Robi Fischer & The Truth abut the Holocaust!

~What an awesome day!  It rained, and rained, and rained...we had no recess....and we did Music Art & PE testing..... Why was the day awesome?  We spent the entire morning with Robi (Bob) Fischer, a survivor of the Terezin Concentration Camp in Czechoslovakia.  His stories from the camp brought to life everything we learned about the Holocaust through our study and our novels.  It was like meeting a real life Misha or Schmuel!  Thank you so much Mr. Fischer for giving us the privilege of hearing your story and ensuring that the next generation will know the truth about what happened to ALL the innocent victims.  Special thanks to Nicole's Mom, Elizabeth for finding Mr. Fischer for us!

Gunter gets a haircut and Skate Station!

~Gunter got his haircut!  We can see his face now!  We didn't know who he was when he arrived Tuesday morning!

~Congratulations to the APES!  We won the Golden Skate again!  Mr. Gibbons was not able to make it as he had to finish the yearbook before Tuesday!  Mrs. Goodman showed up... as she always does..... and represented the APES!  We hope that Mrs. Hunt and Mrs. Goodman recover from their little race on the track!

Still Working Hard in Rooms 71 & 73

~We are loving Where The Red Fern Grows.  Grandpa is bragging up a storm about Billy's coon hounds.  What he doesn't know is that he is really hurting Billy..... now all the other coon hunters want to beat Billy's dogs.  Has anyone seen Grandpa's hairbrush?  Why is he so mad?

Room 71 & 73 Holocaust Remembrance Day

~May 29th will be Holocaust Remembrance Day for the Apes.  We will have a special guest speaker who survived the Terezin (Theresienstadt) Ghetto and Concentration Camp.  Our Memorial Project will be on display outside of Room 71.  To learn more about Terezin, click HERE.

Back to the Fern

~We are really moving along at anise clip in Where the red Fern Grows.  Sadly, Rubin and Ranie's bullying has come back to hurt them!   Rubin fell on the axe he was going after Old Dan with...and died from the wounds.  Billy showed his integrity and heart by laying flowers on the grave.  While there he got to see the human side of the Pritchard family when he saw Ma Pritchard wiping tears from her eyes.  What adventure lie ahead for Billy?
Anastasia gets her first dose of how the Apes do READING...she loved it...and she is actually a pretty good reader!  Welcome to Beauclerc Anastasia!

Holocaust Memorial Project

~The Apes are currently working on a Holocaust Memorial Writing Project.  By the end of next week the hallway outside of Room 71 will be adorned with memorials to some of those who died in the Holocaust, and to some of those who survived.  This is dedicated to the 11 million victims of the Nazi murder machine.  Each child will present a victim's story in hopes that we NEVER FORGET!
