Number the Stars Finale
![]() |
| Kim Malthe-Bruun |
~We finished reading our latest piece of historical fiction, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It was amazing! Both classes clapped and cheered when the novel was over! The were connected to the characters and to the situation these two young girls were put in to. Lois Lowry modeled Peter after a real Resistance fighter named Kim Malthe-Bruun. He was sentenced to death for working with the Resistance to save Jews and make sure none of Denmark's natural resources reached Germany!
Informative Writing!
~We are working hard on our essays! We have written about the dangers and negative effects of too much technology, our focus has been on effective and engaging thesis statements, adding supporting details and elaboration! Come see some of our better work on display in the hallway! Special thanks to Mrs. Fox, and our resident published writer (and semi-famous), Mrs. Burke!
End Of Month Luncheon January!
~Cheers!~ Here's to another successful month of Reading, Writing, and Math and meeting our goals! Special thanks to the girls of Room 18 for sending in all those awesome desserts!
