Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

~We started off our day with the Polar Express, then played some Pajama Kickball. Miranda taught us that pajamas and kickball do not go well together. Then we had our ziti/lasagna smackdown. We all know who won! We went back to Room 71 and had our Annual Pickle Swap! Next, we opened our stockings from Santa. All in all it was a great day!

~Big thanks to Mrs. Jenkins for taking Ethel over break while Mr. G. goes to Boston! Check out how small she was when she first arrived. She has tripled in size in just over 4 months!

~Today was awesome! We finished our gingerbread houses, and then got right back to Milkweed! We are working on making inferences right now, and it was amazing to see the Apes infer about Janina's mother, and Uncle Shepsel's character! Our story is really turning dark right now, food is scarce, Jews must wear arm bands to identify themselves, and they are building a wall around the ghetto to isolate the Jews. Misha still loves life, he has a friend in Janina, and a someone who cares about him in Uri. He is naive, but he is pure in his intentions.

~Today we got a chance to read as a group and have discussions about Misha with our partners.

Awesome Day in Room 71 and 73!

~Today was an awesome day in Rooms 71 and 73! Special thanks to Mrs. Goodfarb, Mrs. Whitelaw, Mrs. Trueblood, Mama Mia, Mrs. Peck and Elf Tim for helping out! Yes...we even had an elf from the North Pole visit and help us with our mathematical configurations! Hint: he wore his blue business shirt instead of his elf outfit...he didn't want to call attention to himself! (see if you can find his picture) Big thanks to all the homeroom mothers for sending in treats and thingys to make today a day we will all remember! The pictures are in order from beginning to end! Hope everyone has an awesome break! I know that I will enjoy my family up in Boston, and keep you ALL in my thoughts!

Holiday Week!

~It has been an awesome week so far! We enjoyed Mrs. Peck's favorite Christmas story about the tree that never gets chosen, only to realize how important he is to the animals around the forest. We made ornaments today (act surprised) and are really getting to know Misha Pilsudski, and beginning to understand why Uri treats him badly at times. We also got to taste hazelnut butter creams! They are Misha's favorites Please, please, please do not wear shorts to school...it is too cold! More Milkweed tomorrow and GINGERBREAD HOUSES!
