~Today in history, singer Marian Anderson sang in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Easter. 75,000 people gathered to hear her sing after she was denied permission to sing at Constitutional Hall in Washington, D.C. President Roosevelts wife, Elinor, urged her to sing at the Lincoln Memorial. Four years later, she would sing at Constitutional Hall to a mixed audience of Black and White people.
