Play Day!

~WE WON!!!!!! Well...not exactly...we didn't come in first... or have the most points....but we had the most fun!  And he who cares the least...WINS! Thanks to all those parens from Rooms 16 & 18 who joined in on the fun!

End of Year Cookout!

~Be on the lookout for this flyer on Wednesday!  Our first annual FOURTH Grade End of Year Barbecue Throwdown (11:15) will be immediately after our Class Awards (10:00) DO NOT MISS CLASS AWARDS! We would like at least one parent/grandparent of each child to attend at 10:00!!!! at the cookout, our classes will be responsible for drinks and chips.  On the invitation it will ask you to bring ONE of the following: 6 pack of water,  6 pack of Sprite, or 6 pack of Gatorade... or pack of 8 individual chips!  Burgers/ Dogs/ Buns will be provided by the teachers!  Please RSVP by Friday so we can purchase the right amount of meat.

What a great novel!

~We finished our second to last novel, Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli!  We laughed, we empathized, we cried, and we celebrated Misha's survival in Wold War II Poland!  He made it to America where he found his granddaughter and named her after his adopted sister (Janina) who sadly did not make it!  We picked up on the symbolism and made lots of inferences!  Next time you see a hazel nut buttercream, think of the victims and the survivors!  Remember, next time you see someone being mistreated, be glad it is not you...and even better...step in and stand up!  Don't be a bystander, be an Upstander!
