~A big thanks to Robi Fischer, who came to visit us on Tuesday. Mr. Fischer is a survivor of the Theresienstadt (Terezin) Concentration Camp in Czechoslovakia. He was there for over two years until they were liberated by the Russians in 1945. His father was murdered by the Nazis, his mother was hidden by Czechoslovakians, his baby sister was hidden by Catholics, his grandfather was also murdered by the Nazis. Thanks to his grandmother's cooking skills, and his own musical talents, he survived. He had us mesmerized with his humor and his memories. Mr. Fischer headed for America after the war and became a citizen of the country he loves, the United States. We made home a name plate with all our pledges on the back to NEVER FORGET.
