Kool Aid Pickle Tuesday 2013

 ~The tradition that started in the slums  and shanties of Dracut, Mass.  over 80 years ago continues in Jacksonville, Florida....... KOOL AID PICKLES!  We are sure that Uri would have loved these!

Messenger from the Holocaust

 ~We were privileged on Thursday to listen to the life story of Robi Fischer.  Mr. Fischer was a 7 year old boy when he was sent to Theresienstadt (Terezin) Concentration Camp in Czechoslovakia with his grandmother and grandfather.  His mother was sent to work with a government official as a cook.  He witnessed the murder of his grandfather.  He was a child who performed for the International Red Cross when the Nazis tried to fool the world with fake restaurants, cafes, schools, pools etc.  As soon as the Red Cross left, most of the participants in the hoax were murdered.  Mr. Fischer was one of the lucky ones.  He did not attend school until he was 13 years old in America.  Did anyone else make connections to Misha Pilsudski?

Hot Dog Thursday!

~All those Apes who have gone above and beyond what has been expected in Reading (over 40 books), earned a free JUMBO hot dog during lunch from Gibbo and Goody's Grille!
